Transnational alternative or not medicine research project.

Project partners:

5) National Greek Social Security (Organisation of Agricultural Insurance)

6) Greek Assosiation of Rheumatology

7) TUI Tourism organisation

Primary Goals to be achieved:

1) Research of the effects of the Bad Gastein caves on patients with chronic reumatological illnesses.

2) Research of the psychological effects and support of patients with chronic reumatological illnesses through an alternative (or not) medical therapy combined with a full board holiday package.

3) Promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility in the field of medicine (alternative or not).

4) Raise of awareness of alternative medicine to Medical University students.

5) Graduall dicrease of costs for the therapy of such illnesses in bebefit of the Social or Private security Organisations.

Secondary Goals to be achieved:

1) Creation of working posts.

2) Involvment and awareness raising of medical students in project creation and handling especially of the FP7-8.

3) Social cohension through the cooperation of transnational parties.

Explanatory note.

The costs of the treatment of a number of ilnesses in Greece sometimes seem excessive. Therefore the creation of a project that would lessen the costs of such illnesses treatment would be in the best benefit of the Social or Private Insurance organisations.

At the same time the holiday combination could benefit the patients in psychological terms. So, I strongly believe that even if the treatment is being proved ineffective on itself, the psychological effects of the combined Holiday-Treatment-Therapy will be the most appropriate.

The meeting of a new culture that would be in the benefit of the patients could result in promoting Social cohension of the partisipant parties and also, the cohension of Medical Students that would handle the project.



The proposed project can be expanded and generalised as follows:

1) Research of the costs of treatment on a number of chronic illnesses around E.U..

2) Support of treatments in the countries with the less cost.

3) Creation of Tourist packages in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility
